PUMPING TEST
Net pump pressure = discharge PSI − intake PSI (add lift and friction losses when drafting). Net, Flow, and % of Rated calculate automatically from your entries. Total test time under load: 45 min minimum. Engine speed shall not exceed no-load governed speed.
PRESSURE CONTROL DEVICE TEST
Relief valve or governor — discharge pressure rise must not exceed 30 PSI when discharges are closed.
INTAKE RELIEF VALVE (IF EQUIPPED)
TANK-TO-PUMP FLOW TEST
Must meet or exceed rated tank-to-pump flow, sustained until tank is ~80% emptied.
GAUGE & FLOWMETER TEST
Gauges: within ±10 PSI of master at 150 / 200 / 250 PSI · Flowmeters: within ±10% of actual flow.

Target nozzle setups by rated capacity
Overload test (165 PSI net) uses the same flow and setup as the capacity test. Your apparatus's rated capacity is highlighted. Multiple tips = identical tips flowing simultaneously; pitot each tip and sum the flows.

Setups chosen to keep pitot readings in the 30–90 PSI band for accuracy. Any tip/pitot combination that reaches the target flow is equally valid.
Pitot technique — quick rules
  1. Hold the pitot blade in the center of the stream, away from the tip approximately half the nozzle diameter.
  2. Keep the blade edge-on and steady; read the gauge only when the needle settles. Bleed air from the pitot before reading.
  3. Stream must be solid at the point of measurement — turbulence or a broken stream reads low.
  4. Read to the nearest 1 PSI. Between table rows, interpolate — flow changes ~1% per 2% change in pitot pressure (square-root relation).
  5. For the capacity run, set flow first (throttle to target pitot), then trim to 150 PSI net. Re-check pitot after every throttle change.
